The Bing search team just announced how they plan to make web searches more social. Through a new feature called “Bing and Ping,” you’ll be able to share certain types of search results with others via Twitter, Facebook, or email. It doesn’t appear that the feature will be implemented on all search results across the board, only on those where sharing makes sense. For example, the share options will appear below “Instant Answer” results, which are the one-box results that appear at the top of the page for many web searches. In the team blog post, they demonstrated how this would work by posting a a screenshot of an Instant Answer result for sports scores from the Seattle Seahawks. Beneath the scores, there were options to share this result via Facebook, Twitter, and Email.

The feature would also be implemented on similar Instant Answer results like flight status, local movie showtimes, and more as well as on Bing Local searches so you could recommend your favorite businesses to your family and friends.

Bing and Ping has not gone live yet, but if you want to try it out, become a fan of the Bing Facebook page. Fans will receive a special invitation to preview this feature soon.
