Gladinet Now Offers SkyDrive 25 GB Support

Remember when we told you about Gladinet, the software that lets you mount your SkyDrive as a virtual drive in Windows? Well, shortly after that post went live, the new version of Windows Live launched, and with it came the new and improved 25 GB SkyDrive. Although that storage increase was awesome, it unfortunately broke the Gladinet software. But now they have corrected that. The latest version of Gladinet (build 47) was just released with support for the new SkyDrive. However, they note that although the functionality is back, it’s not done yet. There are still some kinks to work out. For example, public folders and shared folders are showing as empty – they expect to have that fixed within the week along with a few other issues. If you’re dying to get your SkyDrive desktop app working again, you can grab the latest version from their homepage. Otherwise, you might want to wait a week until build 48 is ready.

I tried it, but it doesn't read the directories. The Google documents work, but Skydrive only connects to the root directory of the spaces. I have two files three folders that I use in teaching at Vanderbilt that are publicly accessible as class supplementary materials. I tried my CS292 Beyond the One Way Web and my two years of ENG 115F Worlds of Wordcraft folders. They show up as empty content even though they are populated with my class materials, audio lectures, and smartboard notebooks.
A new build will be available around Christmas and New Year time frame to resolve the remaining SkyDrive issues. Public folders should work in the next build. Favorite folders should work as well so you could grab the IE address bar and drop into the Favorite folder integrated into Windows Explorer.
