Put Any Widget on Your Windows 7 Desktop

Amnesty Generator is free software for Windows PCs that lets you put nearly any widget on your desktop, including those from services like YourMinis, SpringWidgets, Widgetbox, iGoogle, and now the New York Times. Although the software is designed to work in Windows Vista, DownloadSquad is reporting that it also works well in Windows 7. To use the software, you just copy and past the HTML embed code for the widget you want, enter in a title, select an image, then click “Generate.” The program will then create a Windows desktop widget for you, without you having to write a single line of code. Although the Windows Live Gallery contains a number of free widgets to choose from, with this utility you aren’t limited to using widgets from just one source – you can find a widget for almost anything!

The Amnesty Generator software is available for download here.
