Run Multiple Instances of Outlook at the Same Time

If you’ve ever wanted to run multiple instances of Outlook at the same time – not multiple profiles, but separates instances running concurrently – you probably weren’t able to figure how to do so. That’s because multiple instances is not a feature built into Outlook by default. However, there is a way to do this, but it involves using a third-party program called Extra Outlook.

Thanks to the Life Rocks 2.0 blog, we recently discovered this freeware application which, once installed, lets you run multiple instances of Outlook each connected to different servers. If you don’t know why you would want to do this – you probably have no reason to use the program. That’s a good thing because this is entirely unofficial, unsupported software that actually modifies the Outlook executable. In other words, use this at your own risk!

However, if you’ve decided that you want to keep your business email and your personal email entirely separate, Extra Outlook might come in handy. You can grab the application here.

Note: If you have installed plugins like Xobni, Extra Outlook might cause issues! Be warned!
