Silverlight for Symbian Plugin Now Available

At MIX10, Microsoft announced that Silverlight technology would be made available for Symbian-based mobile phones and publicly released the plugin Microsoft Silverlight for Symbian – Beta. This plugin brings Silverlight’s cross-browser, cross-platform technology to Symbian phones, specifically Nokia S60 5th Edition platform phones. The runtime for these devices is hosted in the S60 default WebKit-based browser. All S60 5th edition devices including Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 Mini are supported.
The beta release is intended primarily towards the developer community, notes the Nokia Beta Labs blog post. Developers will want to get their hands on both the plugin and the associated developer tools, available for direct download here:
