At last, the native Facebook application for Windows Mobile devices has arrived! Designed for Windows Mobile 6 phones, the new application lets you interact with the social networking service in a number of ways, including sending messages to your friends, managing your profile, posting to walls, checking friends’ status updates, reading the News Feed, and a lot more. You can even take pictures or videos with your phone and upload them directly to Facebook using the app.
Another nice feature of this mobile application is the ability to call the people on your Friends list. Those friends of yours who have added their phone number to their Facebook profile are gathered into a phonebook-like interface where you can choose to call them, text them, or send a message to their Facebook inbox. Why haven’t other mobile apps delivered such a smart feature, I wonder?
The app also takes advantage of Windows Mobile phones’ touchscreen interface, displaying various actions you can take when you tap your finger or stylus on the screen. For example, tap on a friend’s status update and you’ll see options like view profile, write on the wall, or leave a comment.
To get the app on your phone, you can download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/facebook.mspx.
