Windows Media Center for Windows Mobile

A company called OABsoftware has created a Windows Media Player clone application designed just for Windows Mobile devices. The app, called Mobile Media Center, can be used to listen to music and podcasts, watch videos, browse through photos, and check RSS feeds in a similar fashion as to what you’d see in the desktop version of the Media Center Software. However, the mobile app looks more like XP Media Center than the one bundled with Windows 7. Still, it makes for a nice alternative to using your phone’s Media Player software.
In order to install Mobile Media Center, you’ll need to run the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 or higher and a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device.

I'd like to see apps like this using Silverlight. I think Windows Mobile and Windows in general will go through some radical changes after Windows 7. By using Silverlight, I think developers will be better positioned for that transition. Do doubt, Microsoft will need to be sure that future web based Windows OS (perhaps based on "Gazelle") can thwart anything Google's Chrome OS can throw its way. So the war is on, Google has to watch it's "Search" back and Microsoft has to watch it's "OS" back.
