The highly anticipated Xbox LIVE update is now available to all users. The next time you sign into Xbox LIVE, you’ll be prompted to accept the mandatory update. If you haven’t already heard (where have you been?!), this is the update that will deliver the slew of new features originally announced at this year’s E3 Expo. Those features include updates to Netflix (queue management, movie parties, etc.), a new avatar marketplace, Xbox parties, user ratings, games on demand, and more. (For a complete list of features, see this post.)
One thing to note is that Xbox’s integration with social services like Twitter, Facebook, and Last.FM won’t arrive until later this year. Also, the new Zune Video Marketplace will ship later this fall when the new Zunes go on sale.

The XBox Dashboard and Live teams have done an outstanding job. Now with these releases behind them, I can only wonder how they will match the significance of this years releases. Exciting times in XBox.
