I'll never do that DVD/BR image comparison thing. I currently have a huge library of DVD's that look great. If I compare them to BR, they'll look poor. I don't want to degrade the image quality of my movies, even if it's only in my mind.
Also: Alpenhorn.
7zip supports RAR and ZIP and tons more and is open source!
TextGlow is pretty cool. After seeing this video I wrote an article about how to use it from SharePoint.
Same with 7zip vs WinRAR. I don't mind paying for software that I use often and I even donate money to free projects but for some apps it just does not make sense.
Yes, that's it, now to casually introduce that into conversation
As for DVD/BR, the cool part is the code is reusable so you could use to compare images using different camera settings (f stops, lighting, resolution, etc).
As for SmartFTP, what's so much better about it that FileZilla doesn't have? Maybe my FTP needs are basic
The name is actually Alphorn and not Alpenhorn (without the en)
Agreed on FTP. FileZilla FTW
For me it's http://www.tugzip.com all the way.
