I flew to Boston last week and sat down with Dr. Ian Davis, the Mad Doctor himself, CEO and Founder of Mad Doc Software to talk about their upcoming game "Star Trek Legacy" for the PC and the 360. We chatted about Star Trek games, Artificial Intelligence and Bulldogs... not in any particular order. This is just part 1 of my trip to Mad Doc, more gameplay footage of both the single and multi-player game is coming soon!

Great interview, Duncan. I'm really looking forward to Star Trek Legacy. I'm still a little uncertain of the gameplay, but what I've seen looks good. It's disappointing we can't name our ships, but I was expecting that.

I love this video.
It's too easy for jaded gamers to call game coders (those that rely on scripts and "canned" animation) lazy, but to hear it from the horses mouth, and seeing the hardware specs of 360 and multicore processors that will be powering even more entry level machines in the next year.. I hope MadDoc and others (Bioware, Bungie, EAM, Lionhead, etc) can bring out impressive AI for 360 and games for the Windows platform.
