The video mentions the Quick Jump grid, Context menu, will these controls be made available to developers along side the Panorama and Pivots in the final dev tool release?
Hi mdtauk,
Tese controls will be available in the near future as part of the "Mobile controls toolkit".. For sure context menu, date & time pickers, ToggleControlSwitch.. Quick jump grid is still a to be confirmed but at a minimum we will have a good enough sample that we are using in production apps.
So it will be like the Silverlight Toolkit, but for Windows Phone controls. I hope there can be some before launch with refined versions coming later.
Very impressive example of an app. If most apps are this polished by launch, then I have something very good indeed to look forward to.
Awesome, now just make those controls available to us, so we can get rid of our attempts and incorporate this and be ready for launch time . @jaimer : Can you disclose any specific time frame ? how soon is "near future"
(Check one that apply) :
Thanks in advance
Hey Now Jaime,
Great Vid! Learned a lot
Thx 4 the info,
Catto
Silvercrux,
I am going to have to go with "None of the above" .. Pivot and Pano will come first. Microsoft has announced these will be in core platform by RTM (but afaik we have not share the timeline for RTM)..
As I mentioned below, not all controls have been committed yet. We know from customers what to tackle for next round (and I hinted of them) and my best guess is that your "4 weeks" is still earlier than we are planning .. We have to get these controls to a good enough quality before we share them.
Sorry I can't share more specific details. The Windows Phone team will announce timelines as soon as they can. I will try to nag them about it often..
Is this application not theme-aware? Will it show with white background even if the dark theme is selected? Is it okay for applications to ignore the theme setting? Or is it a requirement that all applications should be theme-aware?
rgullhaug,
This design is not theme aware. It is not a requirement to respect themes.
Can you please provide some information about how you was able to change the background color of the notification area on the top of the screen (where you see the battery indicator). I have asked this question on the official wp7 forum, but the answer is that it is not possible, but clearly you have done it in this application.
Hello,
The tile in Quick jump grid has a background of default theme color can any you say how to change the color of the tile.
Thanks
Those videos are really cool, but I always have huge problems to play them. Can u upload them on Youtube? Their player is much more robust.
