I got together with Greg Baribault from Microsoft Auto while at CES to get a look at what new things Microsoft Auto is working on. They include the new V.3 of Ford Sync, of course, but also some interesting diagnostics applications in conjunction with Fiat, and a really nice in-truck computer system for contractors that includes an RFID reader. The idea is that you throw all your tools in the truck and it will let you know if any are missing. There is also some great integration with TellMe.

Of course those who bought a Sync-enabled car last year are not left out, simply put an upgrade USB thumb drive into the Sync car and your car will upgrade with the new services and features.
