Coming your way Oct 27th. In Guild Wars Nightfall, the third campaign in the award-winning Guild Wars universe, you will never face danger alone. I skedaddled on over to the launch party where the scene was off the hook! Great venue, live belly dancers, tasty appetizers and of course- great gameplay. I got the chance to speak with a few key players on the production side of Guild Wars and then one "SuperFan". It brought me back to my days at BlizzCon *tears*...
How many of you have ever been to a launch party for your FAVORITE game? It must be like meeting Madonna....

That party looked like wicked fun! I've been givenGuild Wars some serious thought these past few months. While I love WoW, it's completely uneconomical if you stop playing, so Guild Wars is great being totally free...that, and I've always prefered just paying for expansions over paying for service and expansions.

Great behind the scenes segment, Laura. Thanks. Let me buy you a drink if I'm ever lucky enough to find you at a Launch party.

I just wish ArenaNet would produce a Mac version of the game. That would fully facilitate my purchase decision. Until then, it looks like I'll hold off until I buy a new gaming pc with Vista preinstalled.
Yes, those posters are awesome.

I love the idea of online games, but I fear them. I already play too many video games, and I think something like WOW or Guild Wars would just suck up every ounce of my time. I played SW Galaxies for about a month and got way too into it. It became an all night thing. Getting in hunting parties, working for Jabba, etc. When I wasn't playing it I was thinking about what armor I wanted to track down for my character, or where I wanted to buy a house. It's amazing how games can have that effect. I had to finally make myself quit playing it.... Yes, I don't have a problem. I can quit any time I want

Good call, Ted. I was completely addicted to Diablo 2, for just about 4 years straight. I spent all my time on-line, playing with the same group of people. And that wasn't even an MMORPG. I have to admit though, my co-workers finally talked me into playing WoW, and I must say, it's all right. But not great by a long shot. I think I'm burned out on playing video games in general though. I played Oblivion at the beginning of the year, also non-stop, but from one day to the next, my interest had completely vanished and I haven't touched it since.
I guess I'm getting too old to be spending my time on-line with kids who can't phrase a simple sentence.
