How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- High Quality WMV (PC, Xbox, MCE)
- MP3 (Audio only)
- MP4 (iPod, Zune HD)
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
Windows Phone 7 Program Manager, Sean Mckenna, swung by the Channel 9 studio to give us a demo of some Windows Phone 7 applications. The idea is that these are some core applications, for which the source code will be made available
HERE, that developers can integrate into their more complex and intricate original applications. Check out what he's offering and get to developing!

What Samsung is it?
Looking Good !
@Laura: I would say, why not do the same style of video but with only XNA examples. Because now they were all Silverlight. I'm really wondering where XNA will drive stuff. Especially since he said 'casual games' can be made in silverlight. Most phone games are casual no?
For example, the LIMBO arcade title in Xbox Live, can it be ported to Windows Phone? (altough that still is a casual game imho)

These are awesome! I'm super pumped for WP7 to come out, not only from a developer's perspective but also from a future user's.
Thanks Charles! Altough most stuff in the video was about silverlight (since the person visiting was from silverlight), there were some links in the description to YouTube searches that were real eye openers. People are building cool stuff!
I hope to bring one (simple) XNA game to the marketplace by next year. Skills, i must learn. But it is fun !
Cool idea.
I've already used some existing code as a starting point for other things, its a great way to learn:

The reason that I pointed to that piece is that Mike talks about XNA as it really is: It's for game developers who know how to build games, as opposed to casual users who want to press buttons and have applications come out...

These apps look great, and glad the source code is going to be made available as starter kits will be a great kickstart to a lot of apps. I actually was going to do a level app but the one shown in the video is way better than I was going to do, and has all the features! Rest of the apps have bits and pieces which apply to other apps, especially like the way the PhoneAccent is used in some of the apps like the Stock Charts and the Level app.
Damn, I already had implemented the Bing based translation app for WP7
I know it's for real game developers and I also know I'm not one of them 'yet' (might never be). But I wanted to get more information about it because I'm doing my master thesis next year about Concurrent Design patterns for XNA. So I'd love technical stuff about XNA and processing power on a Phone compaired to a desktop graphics card.
Thanks for the heads up Charles !
Tina's working on it. There will be XNA developer content on C9 in the near future!

where I find the source codes?
The source code has not been released yet. We are targeting the end of September to have it available.
It's a prototype device called Taylor. It will not be available commercially.
I clicked that link, it seems I could not find anything to download to learn from. I just installed the latest version 2010 for WP7 prior this show. can someone show me the link to download these interesting Samples to learn.
http://developer.windowsphone.com/ -> Download the Tools -> Code Samples (bottom link in the right hand column)
I do not find the code of these programs. Does anybody knows where to find them exactly ?
See above
