Hello and welcome to another Microsoft Dynamics Ax 2009 Enterprise Portal screencast.
Microsoft Dynamics AX developers will learn how to use record context in Enterprise Portal. Record context is used to pass currently selected record information on a page or Web part to another page or connected Web part.
This how-to-video demonstrates three ways of passing record context:
Use a Microsoft Dynamics AX hyperlink field to link to a detail page for the selected record. In this method, the context is passed automatically to the detail page, and no coding is required. Use an ASP.NET template field to link to a detail page for the selected
record. In this method, you must pass the context through code.
Use Web parts that are connected to display the list and the details on a single page. When you click on a record in one Web part, the context is automatically passed to the second Web part.
Enjoy the show!
