How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”
- High Quality WMV (PC, Xbox, MCE)
- MP3 (Audio only)
- MP4 (iPod, Zune HD)
- Mid Quality WMV (Lo-band, Mobile)
- WMV (WMV Video)
Now this is cool. Jeff Weir and John Lynn work in the Microsoft Live Labs team (that's the group that created Photosynth). They also have a couple of Surface units in their office. So the two of them came up with an idea to build a little application called Shadow Box (or unofficially "nightmare box") that 'burns' in and out images of what the infrared camera inside the surface sees. The end result is both awesome and spooky! Check out the video of Shadow Box in action.

That's very creative, almost like painting with light.

Ha! I get it: Palm trees!

The face copying reminds me of the photocopier at work

Now that's amazing. It's like you can make real art with Surface. Not just messy finger painting. And it's sort of like a camera, being able to show the card faces or real faces that well enough. Shadow Box could be a real artist' tool. :^)

Sweet, I guess you could do a painting with that.
It would be cool if after you've finished your masterpiece you could email it to yourself, Or a friend with a nice virtual keyboard. ...I can only dream.

Finger Painting 2.0, haha. Take that Crayola-mess-less-paint-kit!
Umm, I'm quite amazed at the quality of the "burned" image. There are definately many undiscovered applications for this; the opportunities are endless.
