A day in the life of CES!

After all the build-up and anticipation CES is finally happening. This morning it was get up and start shooting. With the camera obviously the other type of shooting is bad. My camera woman and I walked over to Bally's and took the monorail to the convention center where acquiring your badge is not an easy thing to do. After two shuttles, four wrong turns and three espresso shots we were in. And it is pretty in there. It's only been a few hours so I've barely seen anything, although I'm digging the older couple who are doing laps outside the las vegas convention center with their segway. Bill Gates kicked things off with last nights keynote and as expected the technology is getting bigger and bigger. Intel is helping to support some pretty cool health and fitness software. And they had bikes with plasmas that showed virtual tracks and maps where you could ride with friends from anywhere around the world. I also made a quick stop at COBRA where they have a nifty little device that gives you notice when one of those annoying picture ticket red light corner things is coming up. I say that much better in the actual interview with those guys. So much more to see. Oh yea, and of course I gotta drop by the sports book and toss a hundred on OHIO STATE! Down with the Gators! Go Buckeyes!!!!

Ain't Vegas grand? I really wish I could've done CES this year, but I opted to avoid the hastle and cost of transportation etc. I certainly hope you're having a great time. Rest assured, any time I'm playing Project Gotham Racing 3 or Rainbow Six in Vegas...I'll be thinking of you, T-Dub.

You know, games like Vegas and PGR3 have gotten so realistic that I can't look at a picture of the real Vegas anymore and not think of those games. I mean when you're flying over the city in Rainbow Six it's just so lifelike. You can see traffic! Cars actually moving. I just hope whatever Hotel/Casino Tina's staying in doesn't get overtaken by baddies. I'd hate to have to put my mad RB6 skills to use in the real world.

I was in the same convention center at the same time, but for the AVN convention. You should have swung by - it was a lot more exciting.

Mmm i saw that intel thing with the bikes, it looks like a great way to workout going up slopes looks like seriously hard work, but i suppose being able to talk and ride with friends in real time has some cool possibilities, i did think the graphics were a little tired looking though, and i also think that if they had a wider selection of tracks and locations that would make it more appealing., well, i mean you are destined to get bored of riding the same six tracks all the time. LS:)
