Our non-stop GDC coverage takes us next onto a tour of the AMD booth. AMD is taking the xbox 360 chip, shrinking it down and putting it in phones. They're also working with developers to make some great games. Nic Fillingham our Singapore rep for channel 10 does an indepth interview to bring you the scoop. 3D graphics on Mobile phones in a few years...hey, that's what they're saying.

That is some seriously impressive stuff. I think AMD makes some of the best graphics processors and the fact that they're miniaturizing the kind of technology inside the 360 (and the Wii) is nothing short of amazing. However, true 3D graphics are not really new to phone technology. Does anybody remember the short-lived N-Gage that tanked here in the U.S? It did well in Europe and India, but died out everywhere else.

While 3D graphics aren't new to phones, lighting filters and shaders have yet to be incorporated, so applying the kind of technology inside the 360 to phones will be something special. Can you imagine playing something as good looking as Crackdown on a phone? Now they just need to develop a more streamlined interface and control scheme for nextgen mobile games.
BTW...nice outfit, Tina.
