New S+S Blueprint: Silverlight Blueprint for Sharepoint
At the Sharepoint Conference 2008, Bill Gates announced the Silverlight Blueprint for Sharepoint. The full S+S Blueprint will be available for download via codeplex and via the S+S Blueprints Manager in the near future. Welcome to Microsoft® Software-plus-Services (Software-plus-Services) Blueprints.
Software-plus-Services Blueprints are a series of source code and guidance packages designed to provide an architectural bridge between vision and implementation by making it easier to build Software-plus-Services applications.
As a starting point for building real solutions by architects and developers, each Software-plus-Services Blueprint includes code and/or utilities, guidance, structured step-by-step workflow and tools delivered within Visual Studio. Each Software-plus-Services Blueprint is focused on media/community, eCommerce, Office Business Applications (OBA), mobility or other future Software-plus-Services application areas. They range in complexity from rapid development packages to complete end-to-end scenarios.
Software-plus-Services Blueprints Manager
The Software-plus-Services Blueprints Manager is a Visual Studio extension delivering the code, tooling and guidance within the Visual Studio experience and includes auto-updating features which download updates and new Software-plus-Services Blueprints via RSS. The Software-plus-Services Blueprints Manager requires Visual Studio Standard Edition or higher. Most of the content of individual Software-plus-Services Blueprints can also be used with Visual Studio Express editions. Developers using Visual Studio Express or other .Net tools can still access the Software-plus-Services Blueprint guidance via the freely available Software-plus-Services Blueprints Guidance Browser.
