In a recent Coding4Fun email, Coding4Fun reader “G.S.” writes: I have been working on a project (media library), and I was looking for a good article on how to read ID3 tags (for mp3s) in Vb 2005. But I couldn't find any. I was wondering if you could maybe write an article for this?
Thanks G.S. for the email, there is a previous MSDN Magazine article that created a database-driven MP3 Player using VB and SQL Server Express that showed how to read ID3 tags from MP3 files. The specific class is the “ID3v1Reader” class and it uses the ID3 specification and the FileStream class to read in this information.
