Last week Ben Lower gave a live Kinect for Windows v2 presentation during dotnetConf 2014 which shows all allot of the new features of the Kinect for Windows v2 device and coming SDK.

dotnetConf 2014 - Kinect for Windows

We will take a look at what's new in Kinect for Windows v2 including the improvements in core sources like Infrared and Depth data.  We will also show how the new Kinect Studio enables Kinect development even while travelling via plane, train, or automobile (note: you should not dev and drive) and how Kinect Interactions can be used to add a new input modality to Windows Store applications.

  • First at all, thank you very much for sharing this kind of information for Kinect. I have already ordered my Sensor V2 and I can't wait to start working on it.

I have a question, Is Kinect SDK V2 compatible or supported in WIndows 8.1 Apps running on Surface RT tablets?

Great news. Can I buy just the adapter (for power and USB) and use my Xbox One Kinect?

  • Greg Duncangduncan411 It's amazing what a professional photographer can do...

@avelarder: Not that I have heard or seen.

@Guilherme Defreitas: Again, not that I have heard or seen.
