Yup. Heard a few people with the same problem. Looks like some of the keys they've given out were duff. Haven't tried mine yet (no disk space until I get home) but hoping that someone somewhere will have got to the bottom of the problems and fixed it.

In other news, I got to play with "Sparkle" in the online labs tonight. I must say I'm really impressed with the Online Labs set-up and wish I'd discovered it earlier. I went expecting 6-8 labs and found more like 80, each of about an hour in length. Some great stuff. Luckily they're letting us download a lot of them for use on our own copies of software, but of course the "Expression" stuff needs to be done at PDC. Unfortunately I went with "Sparkle" for my first lab. I couldn't get past the second page of the lab because of lock-ups or System.NullReference exceptions that then crashed the whole thing losing any data I'd entered in the process. I also found it annoying the way the 'standard' things in other packages (eg holding down the shift key to draw a square grid rather than an oblong) just weren't there. I suspect this is some way from being ready for prime time, at least as far as designers who are used to Adobe and Macromedia products are concerned.

Went to the "futures" talk which didn't live up to its abstract and turned into a walkthrough of "Quartz" instead. I felt it was very Dreamweaver like, but must admit the CSS support is better than anything else I've seen with some nice tools to help debug.

Oops! Just found this on the Channel 9 Wiki about the PDC Goods (Doh! I keep forgetting there are more than just videos and the Coffehouse here on Channel 9):

Installing from exctracted ISO image in a hard disc
  • There seems to be a key validation error that can be overcome if you burn the ISO to a DVD.
  • The validation error occurs if you extract the ISO to your hard drive using the free version of ISO Buster (extracting the ISO files instead of the UDF files). If you don't have a DVD burner available you can use "Deamon Tools" (http://www.daemon-tools.cc) to mount the ISO and copy the files to your hard drive.

Thankyou!

Exactly my problem! Big Smile
