Don't bother. Everything runs and works without problems.

But we will still be locked into the Microsoft-only themes. It's even worse than XP, this time we will only get 1 Windows theme.

Ah, but you can easially avoid this limitation without having third party software running constantly (killing resources.)

The program in that link will patch the uxtheme.dll file allowing you to load any theme you want using the windows display properties.

Simply run the program.
Then find a theme you like off the net.
Drag it into the C:\Windows\Resources\Theme Folder
Select it in display properties.

YAY!
No paying money for winblinds or any other program to sit in your memory killing resources.

But still it would be nice if this feature is included in Vista.

You've got things a bit wrong here.  The uxtheme.dll "fix" is a hacking a system file for one thing.  However it still uses system memory.  Ever look in Services?  There is  Themes Service that runs, that is necessary to run themes.
The alternative Windowblinds is far more elegant as it uses less resources and provides much more flexibility and extra features for low cost, although there is a free trial version that has many of the regular features in it.  Plus the newest WB version 5.0 (in beta) even has the ability for true transparency and per-pixel alpha blending very much like Vista.

Now I don't meant to hijack this thread, but felt the distinction needed to be made.

Personally I don't feel Vista will be a huge seller by itself, mostly with new PC's.  Especially considering the extra video strength it will need for its highest (coolest) functions.
I bought into Xp when it was released and I really like Vista.  So personally I will try to upgrade if my PC can handle it.

I use Vista quiet a bit and for the heavy navigator it will be something worthwhile to upgrade to. Using Flip and Flip3D are awesome and help when you have 10+ windows open at a time. I haven't really had a time to use P2P but I can imagine a few where I would have liked to.

In addition IE7s tabs really help in a work enviroment when you can't install Firefox (On the main work box) and when a toolbar is blocked (Such as the MSN Toolbar).

I'm particularly fond of however the breadcrumb navigation alot of times I have to just between different subfolders in a folder and having that available really helps.

Do I think it'll be worth the upgrade though?

Right now...no it resembles WindowsXP too much besides the navigation/pretty things. Maybe when I get a convertible tablet around Q1 next year sure because then I can take advantage of that...however right now some of the things that they are talking about putting in that aren't...well I think that is going to be the clinchers right there....

BTW: WindowsBlinds is nice...except for the price tag...till then I'll stick with MSSTyles.
