Edit: Out of curiousity, though, why is that after the aspx part we have "postID=100000#100000"? The PostID number is the same as the number after the # sign. I'll admit I'm not well versed in ASP, but that seems like a useless duplication of info.

The postID=100000 part is passed to the server, and determines the content of the resulting page.

The #100000 is NOT passed to the server, and tells the browser to what part of the page it should scroll.
