Daze-d & Confused
Every so often, when I come to Channel 9 in Internet Explorer, it crashes on me on the frontpage.

Its absolutely the tell-tale sign of a corrupt temporary internet file, as once I clear the cache, the error goes away (until it happens again, at irregular intervals of anything from 2 hours ago to gap of 2-3 weeks).

Anyone else seeing this?

Sounds like you need to update your browser or get a more reliable one, like IE on XP for example.

It is better to just timeout with no explanation as to why or what is the cause?

That would be better, but no, you queue the connection, and handle it as soon as the resources required become free.

So you just handle, an un-handleable load using the power of magic somehow before it times out? ... If it was handleable before the timeout period then it wouldn't display the error message now would it...

Welcome Change
I've not encountered any of these errors... IIS errors are not common, Beer. When ASP.NET process crashes, another one is spun up. When you see a white page with red message, then there is a problem on the Orcsweb side of things (not necessarily with the ASP.NET application they are hosting). These are rare events indeed...
