i recently reinstalled my win2003 and formatted my entire hard disk before that. now even if i copy small file, NTFS seems to fit it in the smallest place possible . i defragmatted this sunday and here is the new analysis report

this is despite having 5.36 GB free in the same partition. any suggetions?

The files were probably open at the time of defragmentation and so could not be moved.

Which defragmenter are you using? On some the default will be to just defragment files, and not to move all the free space into a continuous segment. Of course with NFTS it's not like fragmentation is a big issue anyway.
Have you run scandisk on that drive to make sure there aren't any damaged segments?

The files listed above seem like those that can't be moved while Windows is running or were in use at the time. However they are VERY fragmented which is odd. I haven't seen this particular problem before, so will need to consult some people.
