Will this help?
If you use an esata external drive you can get Vista to work, because it acts like an internal drive
I reccomend buying a good HDD enclosure with an eSATA port. You can boot from your external HDD this way at speeds of 3.0Gbs the way it is intended.

Hello,

With these instructions I was able to install Windows 7 to my USB hard drive.

Thanks to you all!
