GW R/Me
Hope its not a daft question, but why are the two registry entries for what (I think) are the same thing:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\ - in File Types "File Folder"
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ - in File Types "Folder"

On a related note, what are the properties you can use in Info Tips (i.e. is there a site that lists them)?

e.g.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory]
"InfoTip"="prop:DocComments;Owner"

Will add the directory (file folder) owner to the Info Tip (in addition to what it already has).

As far as more info on InfoTips, try these:
Somebody's comments on InfoTips
InfoTips in MSDN (look for "InfoTip Customization" section)

Also, see this post:

The difference between directories and folders is essentially:

  • Directories are file folders
  • Folders can be special namespaces such as the Control Panel and such and aren't necessarily directories.
