Just caught a snippet in the Don Box Building 42 video from Scoble that discussing Halo on Channel 9 is not allowed.  Why?

He meant playing Halo on Channel 9.

Your TV has to be set to Channel 3 for it to work.
If you listen carefully he said they are not allowed to discuss Halo *2* on C9. Apparently the MS secret police asked them not to.. So he freaked out cause when Halo was brought up he had no clue what was going to be said.

This will be the sixth time we have destroyed it and we have become exceedingly efficient at it
Anyone here following the "I Love Bees" game?

Some of us here are going to some of the "axons" that go hot tomorrow. There's one in Redmond by my favorite movie theater.

Yeah, I was thinking of Halo 2 when I said that. Just wanted to avoid editing later on. I'm lazy. Smiley
Sounds like an interesting ad campaign/marketing strategy if nothing else.  Maybe Microsoft can someday approach the ingenuity of the infamous "free tacos for everybody" campaign that Taco Bell ran when the space station Mir was plunging through the atmosphere.

Can someone please clue me in?  I'm Xbox-impaired.  But it looks like there are some magical locations in my area that will "go hot" tomorrow.  Unfortunately the traffic around these locations at "zero hour" should be pretty awful.

Are they giving away free tacos?  LOL

That video did have one edit (jump from one place to another..), anything 'interesting' happen in that time?

Thanks... I just wasted about an hour of my life researching this stuff.  It's hugely brilliant viral marketing though -- I don't have an Xbox and now I want one Smiley  Some of the writing, which nightmarishly describes someone's experience "waking up" as a some kind of disembodied cyborg, is really well done.

This is also a good source, as you can see the posts evolve over time:

But I think they had better be giving away whole Xbox systems if they want me to show up downtown at 6 AM!

LOL - I just went to ilovebees.com and IE crashed.  Maybe it's not viral marketing after all?!?!?  Could it be -- could it be --

?
A free taco giveaway.

Seriously, the Ilovebees thing came up here:

LOL!  Yum, tacos!  Maybe Taco Bell will do special Xbox tacos with black taco shells filled with green glowing meat.  *gag*

It's too bad that channel9 was left out-of-the-loop on this.

I have a Halo2 entry on my blog with 260 comments.
A month ago I had a "We love bees", and the comments keep coming...I'll do a "I love bees" in the morning and we'll see what happens!
I love beesWell the day is upon us, do you love bees? Do you love games? How about a good story? How much do you know about GPS Coordinates? If you are at the right place at the right time you might find some answers

Axons are going hot. Codewords and status updated here.
For the calls, "Operator" and then your location's codeword seems to be the correct answer.

Phone in field reports to the ARGN Axon hotline: 866-395-3681
The bees have been busy, and now you can listen to the messages phoned in as the Axons got hot.

Yeah, someone asked to be cut out.

Actually, part II of the video will be up next week. I didn't realize they had cut a whole bunch. Sigh.
Thank-you Melissa, the "Operator" for yesterdays excitement. Now where are we? What do we know?

I think the party is just begining, some say there are 567 AXON's waiting to GO HOT. Stay tuned, this could go all around planet Earth.

LOL  Yeah, well, imagine the level of paranoia you might feel if you had an Arabic name, and you're walking around some famous buildings in Washington D.C. with a suspicious list of GPS coordinates.  Then you stop at a payphone and wait for it to ring, having no idea of the identity of the person on the other end.

"No really," I kept imagining myself saying as I was hauled away by men in black, "it's a game... 'Operator' is just a code word... honestly..."

You realize that all this buzz is going to cause a select few to wrap their computers in tin foil or something like that.  All I have to say is, "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?"

I thought about that yesterday, all those FBI agents, paid all that money every week...they must have been snoozing. Thousands were involved in yesterdays goings-on, one of the Axoms was on 43rd st and 8av very near the thousands of NY Police at MSG, thay must have been eating donuts.

Tom Ridge tells us to buy duck-tape and plastic to protect us from the terrorists. He says NYC will be attacked so today he rang the bell at the Stock Exchange on Wall Street, so who is looking out for the terrorists?
Mo Bee's Eavesdropping
And the axons keep on coming.

The Operator's clock struck midnight, and now we've got axons in 160 cities in 44 states.   Anybody making honey?
First I thought you'd all gone nuts. But now I've kinda figured out that you're talking about some kind of nation wide mystery game? What I don't get is how did they get people to pay attention and put this amount of effort into trying to solve the mystery?
You may have been right the first time....but this game is going international! So if you pass a payphone ringing....the "Operator", Melissa may be on the other end...so have your password ready so your Axom can go HOT!

Please let us all know what she said!!!
