In Italy, the trial of Oriana Fallaci starts today.  Anyone interested in the freedom of speech and religion should look into what is happening to her.

I first found out about her from reading an article she wrote for the Wall Street Journal in 2003.  One of the best things I have ever read.

sorry to say: Oriana Fallaci is not the best exaple to say about freedom

Last thing (of many) she wrote is that if the city of Florence leave that a arab temple is built, she personally will go to put a bomb in it

From more or less 5 years she just write about exterminate arabs, muslis and muslims countries, jusr because they are muslims.

She just really push up hate between people
When she were young  wrote some really good book:  now she is just a hater.

She doesnt' deserve anything

TBH, I'd prefer another Islamic Revolution similar to the Golden Age rather than resume with current USA-rules-the-world policy. In a sentance, I don't want the West to be "saved".

Now if the USA kept themselves to themselves, and the same with the Islamic nations, everyone would be happy. But don't assume any of their actions have nothing to do with US (Corporate) Imperialism.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

That's what the United States have, and as such, they are always the first to be called upon.

But the article does quote from the muslim holy book, and from history.  Only extremists would actually follow everything in there, and that's what they are dealing with.  Similarly, the crusades were run by christian extremists.  You don't hear christians condemning books on the crusades, or movies based on them.  They've learnt from history, and are not making that same mistake again.  But, muslim jihad is essentially a continuation of past behavior, and they don't seem to want to stop.

Sorry if this offends, but it's the truth.  Every muslim terrorism act is followed by the terrorist faction praising god for making it possible, and martyring the terrorists.  The western terrorists are only interested in money, which means they are a little smarter as they have to live to spend it.  The muslim terrorists just want to die, and take as many bystanders as they can with them.  Which is just sad.

As a point of distinction, the New Yorker magazine wrote that ,  she said it to the intereviewer.. If you read the interview you will see that this woman is incredibly um... over-exeraggative.

So yes she said the words, but it's obvious hyperbole.

So.....when she ridicules Muslims, it's hyperbole.

I disagree.  She's not a hater. She loves her culture and sees it under mortal attack by another culture, in the most literal sense of the meaning.

So....her hyperbolic calls for violence are because her country is under moral attack...

hmmmmmmm....sounds very, very familiar.

Where have I heard this before....

No, pacelvi, we need to be vigilant and continue to ridicule you and your ilk until the rest of the world realizes that YOU don't represent US.

You are correct about one thing, however:  They do hate YOU.  YOU are the reason and justification for their fear and hatred of the west.  People such as yourself have been promoting fear and hatred for so long that we have a nearly impossible task of calming the situation down.

The Crusades were dissimilar in the fact that such behavior was a clear deviation from the Bible.  They were extremists who disregarded most off the Bible.  Extremist Muslims are the other way around in that they follow their holy book more thoroughly.

Is that fair to say?
