Not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes.
I want to be able to hide the search bar in IE 7! Now with Beta 3 you still can not do this. Microsoft why will you not add this little option?
Please someone know how to hide it?

Do you use the address bar to write things down or something? Or does the search bar cause some sort of discomfort for you?
I use something called Roboform which has a search bar with better options then the IE 7 search bar. And I do not need 2 search bars taking up space in the browser.
I think you are SOL, but at least it is in-line with the address bar so you are not losing much space.
What features does RoboForm provide that the IE search does not?
For me, all I need from my search bar is the ability to point it at all the different engines I use, so I am good to go..
(Actually I use the reg-entries to set up all the search engines I use so I can use them directly from the address-bar. I just type the address 'g keyword' to search google for example. I have about 20 different ones defined.)

I've got the same problem, I just don't feel comfortable using search bars, I prefer typing Alt+Home to go to Google and type my query in there, I guess because it doesn't involve me touching my mouse.

So why dont you just hit Ctrl-T, Ctrl-E?
That opens a new tab and then puts the focus in the search bar.

Cool, it turns out you can just hit Ctrl-E to go to the search bar, and then use *Enter* to get the result in the current tab or *Alt-Enter* to get them in a new tab!
Sweet!
(Dang! Guess I need to *refresh* before replying to myself!)
