They are crazy smart, as were all of the algorithms contestants. These were hard problems. Real hard.

Yeah Polishs are good at Math, and Warsaw is one of the top university as you can see them at TopCoder, most of the finalist are among the tops at Topcoder Alogorithm Competitions Smiley

Unfortunately, for political reasons, they were not admitted into the country. Quite unfortunate, in my opinion... Would have been great to see what they've built.

Wow! The italian team won... I haven't seen any italian guy in the Imagine Cup video here on Channel 9... Sad. (Even no Austrian guy, since they won too).

Unfortunately, I was unable to get to all the teams... In the end, the winning teams will get the most press, so perhaps it's good that I was able to focus on the teams that did not make the finals (though I did talk to the Brazilian and Austran teams. Japan was covered in the Redmond IC video. I covered a bunch of teams, close to all. Really wish I could have gotten to Italy... Oh well).
