I have deep faith that the principle of the universe will be beautiful and simple.
- Albert Einstein

The launching of Windows Vista presents an opportunity for the Channel 9 Community.

If you have ever been to a Microsoft launch event, you have seen the panoramic videos and music playing as your enter the main room and take your seat.

The idea is simple. Post to Channel 9 the most moving vistas-- panoramic photos and videos from all over the world.

Have Channel 9 take the very best photos and videos and edit them into a montage of--Microsoft Moving Vistas-- with a medley of songs.

Use the Expression Suite to edit and animate the show.

Manuel, John and the Sparkle team could help out with the montage and the WAVE team with the audio and video.

For an excellent example of what can be accomplished and to inspire your creativity:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow (What A Wonderful World)

Also for the musically inclined submit suggestions for the launch theme song and audio clips for the medley of songs for the video.

One suggestion for the audio is Iz's moving medley version of Over The Rainbow and What A Wonderful World on the above video:

Ooo oooooo oooooo oooo ooo ooo ooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooo ooo ooo
Ooo ooo ooo

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high,
And the dreams that you dreamed of,
Once in a lullaby.
Oh, somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly,
And the dreams that you dreamed of,
Dreams really do come true.
Someday, I'll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where trouble melts like lemon drops,
High above the chimney top,
That's where you'll find me.
Oh, somewhere, over the rainbow, bluebirds fly,
And the dreams that you dare to.
Oh why, oh why can't I?
Well, I see trees of green and red roses too,
I'll watch them bloom for me and you.
And I think to myself: What a wonderful world!
Well, I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white,
And the brightness of day.
I like the dark and I think to myself:
What a wonderful world!
The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,
Are also on the faces of people passing by.
I see friends shaking hands, saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, " I...I love you!"

I hear babies cry, and I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more than we'll know.
And I think to myself: What a wonderful world!

Someday, I'll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where trouble melts like lemon drops,
High above the chimney top,
That's where you'll find me.

Oh, somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high.
And the dreams that you dare to,
Oh why, oh why can't I?

Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooo ah, ah, ah... eh ah ah, eh ah ah ah ah...

Everyone can enter especially Microsoft employees, that includes you too -- Mini-Microsoft, whoever you are, and Channel Niners, especially Jaime, Charles, Jeff, and Scoble.

There are no prizes.

Just go for it!

Have some fun.

Enjoy the vistas and music.

See you at the launch of Windows Vista.

Cool

It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are thoroughly alive.
There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger after them.
- George Elliot

Einstein also believed God didn't play dice with the universe.  Alas, prevailing wisdom is that he does; and we're still looking for an elegant proof of the Four Color Theorem.
