RAID'ing it up

Hey everyone,

At the moment, I have two machines and 3 external harddrives.

One of the external drives is MP3s, one is movies and one is work (im not very organised).

One of the machines is my Vista test box

One is my main development machine.

I want to know if this is possible:

RAID 1 (Mirror) my Development box (XP Pro) without losing anything?

If not, could I imagine the 3 partitions, move them onto my external drives - RAID and restore them back without a problem?

Are RAID cards built into motherboards good?? Its a bit of a cheap mb.

Any advice on setting up RAID?

I don't mind about my Vista test box as much because it gets wiped everything release.
