Make it so
I've just read that MSDN TV is not going to be continued:

UPDATE: MSDN recently posted its final episode of MSDN TV. We'd like to thank all of our viewers for your support and hope you have enjoyed the last 3 1/2 years of episodes.

Does anyone know if a successor to the show is planned for the future? Otherwise there wouldn't be left much regarding video content on MSDN.

I kept forgetting about MSDN TV...they needed to advertise it a bit more.

They had great episodes, but nobody knew about them... I like the Chris Anderson and Don Box christmas episodes Big Smile Well they could move the content over to Channel 9.

Of course it *looks* like my nick is just my name, but actually, well, it's just my name.
Rats.
Personally, I'm still in mourning for VBTV.

In a way, Channel 9 already has similar content.

If any of you haven't already, check out the screencasts.

excuse me - do you has a flavor?
Honest, i think that channel9 made MSDN tv obsolete. C9 is much more rapid in spitting out new videos and have a nice forum.
MSDN was too much of a sales speech.
Yet im gonna miss the Don Box and Chris Anderson christmas show. [C] Its after all christmas soon, how are we ever gonna survive?

I want my scalps!
Couldn't the C9 guys invite DB & CA to do their xmas show on C9? asap. bbq.

For anyone who still remembers VBTV after all these years, or anyone who doesn't and wants a 'real' .net education, the first and only four shows are available for download again!

I found them lurking on an old disk and felt it was my duty to release them back into the wild.

Enjoy.

Proud to geek ..

Hey, did anyone record those marathon shows that Microsoft did on the satellite around 10-15 years ago?  It might be fun to take a look at one of those today.!  I think they used to go out on a dedicated frequency in the middle of the night (in the UK anyway).  I used to set my video and spend hours the next day watching them!

My name has 9 letters. Coincidence? I think not...

That post was made 3 years ago, so I doubt he's here now.

WTH, seriously Daniel M don't bump ages old thread. Make a new thread or something. Or you just want to scew people around?

hijack: frankly nothing is more annoying (when ending up in forums from google) than multiple threads about same subject. I've noticed Google has very annoying tendency to have the first result be some forum thread (great) and those threads usually end in some moderator pointing you to another thread. And then believe it or not, that thread ends by yet another mod pointing to earlier thread and so on. And in the end after reading 4 threads you find discussion that's not really up to date and the newer threads were locked.

I really can't wait to see if Google Wave could be adapted to replace forums and wikis and aggregate every bit of information into one place which would also stay relevant despite wannabe mods shouting "necro!". 'Necroing threads' and being able to update old info is the correct way to go, not duplicating bits and pieces of discussion all over the place. But forums just weren't really designed, well for anything, they were just quick and dirty solution like the web itself.

As to hijacks like this reply, one should be able to just virtually-branch/filter the relevant parts of the discussion. "Mods" could have the job of re-tagging various replies eg this post would be tagged under "bumping threads" despite of me using reply button in the OP and the reader could easily filter only this part visible or non-visible.

I think of Channel 9 as the NG MSDN TV; look at the address - channel9.msdn.com.

I must say that I loved the "Avalon" and "Longhorn" panel discussions back in not so distant day. And all the nice concept videos. But Channel 9 has both studio interview formats and less "scripted" "at the office" interviews. Both are cool.
