I hadn't been in a little while, so went to check out the comingzune.com viral marketing site.  There's a new video up there that features a guy who looks quite similar to the Channel 9 guy (with a taller, red, buddy), dancing to the tune of 'MIS'.

Have any Channel 9 "insiders" been working with those guys?  I had no idea he could dance so well.

Apologies I can't link directly to the video -- these flash sites are annoying.  Main site is www.comingzune.com.

I don't see any similarities. One's a black heavily pixelated humanoid robot, the other's a bright yellow pixelart figurine.

I don't see any similarity too... But I could be blind.

I don't like flash pages too. I hope they get that better done with WPF/e

Yegads no, WPF/e would be worse for the Internet than Flash.

They just need to learn how to stream Flash. There's no need for that 0% to 100% counter in Flash if you do it right.

This will be the sixth time we have destroyed it and we have become exceedingly efficient at it

I'm predicting something about standards. I could be wrong though Smiley.

If it is about standards, I'm not entirely sure I disagree.

You're probably right, something about de-facto I reckon.  There is no need for Microsoft to enter that market - what do Microsoft hope to gain from it that they couldn't get by working *with* Adobe. Microsoft will have a helluva fight against flash which (so I heard recently) has more installed on more machines that Windows (desktop versions). What is WPF/E *really* marketing material aside going to give me over Flash? Or more specifically what will it give me over Flex and Laszlo?

You're gonna have a lot of Linux (and Mac) guys refuse to download a Microsoft runtime for their platform - and to be honest I can't blame them in this circumstance.  Shipping a cutdown CLR because Microsoft wants people to use it, when people have been asking for a *full* CLR for a while now on other platforms (that is production ready) just seems to me a little cheeky.

No, it's about lockout....and the whole "why have WPF when we've already got XForms?"

....plus I'm concerned about hoe well WPF/E will be implemented cross-platform. Mono is still lagging far behind .NET, for instance.
