Always in motion the future is..

Yup, I bought the radeon back in july 2002.  Had to ask my sister about it just to make sure, cause its the same day I bought her a digital camera.  Yea, I bought one for someone else and I had yet to get one for myself! hehe.  Camera came out to be $300 with taxes.  The card came out to be roughly $220 give or take some  including taxes.  I bought that.. then about a week later the Radeon 8500 came out. LOL.  That was when I had somewhat of a good steady job.

As for PhotoSynth, I don't doubt its stunning perf and experience.   To be honest, I didn't really think I'd get much out of it.  I'm sure though maybe if i gave it time to download all the pictures it might be a different experience for me.

Photosynth seems like an excellent way to transition from 2D user interfaces to 3D ones.  It's clever how you can take some rather simple 3D animation of 2D textures and excite people's imaginations with it!

Now if we could only figure out how to translate human gestures into 3D UI cursor manipulation and region definition -- oh wait, those super bright guys at MSR are already working on that!

I can't wait to see 5-10 years down the road from now what sort of 3D user interface Microsoft comes up with for the next generation of computer users!

Really exciting stuff, guys!  Thanks C9, 10, and Scoble for the previews!

Wheres my head at?
The progressive image loading really is amazing. You can barely notice it changing.

Just choose an image, zoom in a little, and within a couple of seconds it will very gently improve quality as though it were just coming into focus.

It's almost wierd, you can be slowly zooming in and the image quality is improving rather than getting blockier as you get closer.
