Hi, I've noticed that Windows media player never quits even after i have selected Exit. It even continues to play,  hidden from view only showing up in task manager.

Also what has happened to sound recording control, there does not seem to be a way to choose a sound source (or recording volume) in vista.

Any help apreciated.

Yeah, it happens to me every now and then. I have no clue why it does that, I'll ping the relevant devs to see if there's a known issue or something....

What's up homeslice?
I'm not sure about WMP playing after closing, but it does run in the background all the time to power the embedding media player in Win Explorer's preview pane

You have to right-click on the speaker in the System Notification Area and click "Recording Devices".
Click the recording device you want and select "Set as Default".
Next, click "Properties", and click on the "Levels" tab.
