It wasn't brighter than Venus last night here. That's probably because it was a bit hazy, though, and it's really close to the horizon.
It was pretty visible with the naked eye, though, and my roommate got a halfway decent picture of it (without a zoom, even). I'll put it up next time I boot into Linux-- i was running in Linux when he took it and I forgot to move it onto a partition Windows can read
