Frustrations w/ Windows Vista file sharing

I have a slight frustration w/ setting up Vista file sharing. I have a USB drive full of music that I keep connected to my main desktop which is now running Vista. When I had it running XP I shared the folder out and was able to access from any of my boxes, either Linux (via Samaba) or WinXP through \\computername\share. Now it seems a lot harder to connect to it. I have it shared for everyone but yet I am still being prompted for a username/password which no matter what I type does not authenticate Anyone else having any problems with this?

Just feel that you didn't set up file sharing correctly on Vista, have a look on following articles, might be able to solve your problems:
