What about people like my sister in law and my ex's father who have had nothing but problems with WGA. everytime he wanted to install something that required WGA to be passed I had to call Microsoft everytime. I built his PC and bought a shrinkwrapped copy of XP and had to explain everytime that it wasnt pirated. My sister-in-law upgraded to XP and had several problems with WGA saying she was using a pirated version of Windows which she wasnt it was ordered from a reliable source and a clean install was used. She finally got tired of it and when her computer got surged she bought a Mac mini. Piracy or not, Microsoft is treating its customers like criminals. If I bought a car and everytime I took the thing to get serviced they asked me for a proof-of-purchase or they werent going to service it, I would rethink buying that brand again and thats whats happening with Microsoft. If Apple released OS X to OEM's like Dell or HP and even Sun to bundle with their systems how long do you think Windows would remain dominant? People are getting tired of it. I find it interesting too that Microsoft cannot because of " technical reasons " deliver features that customers care about but can backport this crap.

Sorry for the rant. It's just a little sad MS has started to treat its customers like criminals.

Speaking as a MS customer who knows people who do pirate Windows client and server OS' (and who have gotten the anti-piracy lecture from me already), I dont have a problem with this. I know a few people who have given up pirating Windows because of activation and WGA, so more power to MS.
