Intel has done a great job this time. They decided not to release vista WDDM drivers for the graphics of their 91x chipsets and they are officially saying that they're not able to run aero... but guess what? Aero was working on the RCs and the Betas using registry hacks because the chipsets (that BTW are still being sold) are DX9-compatible and support SM 2.0...

Don't open source drivers exist?

Why not try developing WDDM drivers for Vista from the *nix Mesa ones then pitch in a little to pay the VeriSign digital certificate fee?

Open source driver development on Windows... interesting concept. :O

actually the best solution would be to hack their 945 drivers (that support aero) because the hardware is almost the same (the 91x supports less memory).

porting a driver to WDDM would probably require weeks and instead of spending all that time I would simply prefer upgrading the hardware.

right, he would need to change drivers from opengl to directx. ..it would be great task for one sunday afternoon Big Smile

I have a 915GAG chipset, and Aero worked for me on the RC.

I haven't tried installing the RTM yet, but are you saying aero won't work because of the board?

I don't understand... What does the board have to do with it if I am not using integrated graphics (I have a Geforce 6800 GT)?

I actually meant the integrated graphics (in fact I referred to WDDM drivers).

There's nothing to forgive it was my fault because I did not specify that I was referring to the integrate graphics (now I corrected the main post)
