One contract ends and another begins. It's the cycle of life, isn't it. Smiley

Call me crazy if you must, but here's the view I'm giving up as I move to a new contract.

Pop Quiz
- Can you name the city?
- Can you name two well-known landmarks (fuzzily) visible in this photo?

(Sorry, it's an awful quality picture from my cell phone. Why would anyone use their cell phone as a camera? Time for me to buy a decent quality point+shoot camera that I can carry in a pocket.)

The Smith Tower. Completed in 1914. It was purchased by Ivar Haglund in the 70s (the guy that founded the Ivar's restaraunt chain).

I visited the observation deck several months ago. Neat old-style elevators (they require a professional operator). The Chinese room was pretty neat too.

Caution, don't take your girlfriend there. There is a chair that if you sit in it, you'll be married within a year (or something like that). It might be a good place to pick up women though Smiley

. Apparently a lot of women go there to sit on the chair.

Excellent, that is correct. Apologies to the rest, this was obviously a lot easier for locals to guess.

Smith Tower is said to have been the tallest building on the west coast until the Space Needle was completed in 1962. I agree, Smith Tower is a neat old building.

Dylan C: Columbia Center/Bank of America Tower isn't a bad guess, but it was the Space Needle that superseded Smith Tower as the tallest. Note the juxtaposition of Smith Tower and the Space needle, both "central to the photo." Cool
