Greetings.
The other day I came across a
blog entry in regards to
Open Office. It gave a
list of features that are intended for version "3.0" of this suspicious office suite. The timeline found here suggests the product will be released sometime in September of 2008. The list of upcoming features includes an Microsoft Office 12 import filter, the ability to run natively on MacOSX, and features you can install as "extensions".
Sigh.
What is Open Office you ask? A wounded software model at best. In fact, I would argue this type of software cannot be called "software" in the proper sense since it doesn't have access to the "one true codebase" of Vista and lacks its ability to trace its ancestry to the original
10 apostles of Bill.
