I'll hollah back when the ZunePhone is release fully loaded with Windows Mobile.

And then there is the Windows Surface pay-phone booth, which is gonna be awesome!

On a scale of 1 to 10, people are stupid.
Pretentious and AT&T will never, ever again get any of my money, so,  urm...no.

No intention of purchasing anything from Apple. I do have an Apple IIe and Mac SE/30, though.

Leopard is pretty and tempting but I was able to dress Fedora up as Leopard with the Mac4Lin theme pack.

Not available on my continent ... does that count as an answer ?
No though my objection is more about AT&T than Apple.

have one - love it - recommend it

switching to AT&T wasn't a big deal ... +, as a friend reminded me last night, the AT&T data plan for the iPhone is half the cost of their data plans for all their other smartphones
No intention of purchasing

  • Safari doesn't support NTLM authentication, so I wouldn't be able to access my OMA or OWA
  • No charge/sync cradle
  • No Exchange support
  • No API yet
  • Doesn't do anything my Axim/Canary combo doesn't already do
  • Overpriced IMO
  • Only available on O2, and I'm with Orange (and I don't want to risk bricking it)
  • I've used LG's Prada phone, I'm skeptical of the advantages of non-feedback'd tactile displays. Once someone introduces a way to "raise" parts of the screen and be depressed, I'll be interested

Doom!

Using AT&T is holding back a lot of people I know from buying it.  I wouldn't buy one, since I'm more interested in other features (full keyboard, actual SDK, etc)

DB, you're a yank, can you tell us brits what all the drama is about your cellphone companies screwing you over?

Bearing in mind we can receive SMS, MMS, and phone calls for free. Seems too evil to charge to receive stuff, otherwise someone could flood your account with messages and you'd empty your balance receiving them.

NOW THAT WOULD BE SLICK!

a kind of "3d display" ... kinda....

that has a dropshadow, for real!  the button is raised so the light in the room casts a shadow !

I bet it can be done, but would cost a $$$$$$ to make at first...

very cool, but the other thing I'd like to see is a "roll up" display

so you have say a small stick like thing - or a kind of tube with a part you grab and pull on it.... now you have a small screen while you use it. then it rolls back in and is protected from scratching.

Hypothetically it's possible.

You could do it physically with a bunch of pins, a la Pinpression, but that's mechanical and would have to be positioned underneath the display hardware (along with bending it, not good). And bendable screens in their current state suck, so that's out of the question.

They might want to look into transparent materials which expand or compress depending on whatever electrical charge is applied. They'd have to find a way to address and charge each "push pixel" (they don't have to be high-resolution, a push-pixel which covered an area of about 10x10 display pixels would be fine, it's not as though the human finger is that accurate).

This is an interesting time indeed.
