Too many features missing for the UK market - no MMS, what were they thinking?

Anyone else curious?

No intention of purchasing

  • Safari doesn't support NTLM authentication, so I wouldn't be able to access my OMA or OWA
  • No charge/sync cradle
  • No Exchange support
  • No API yet
  • Doesn't do anything my Axim/Canary combo doesn't already do
  • Overpriced IMO
  • Only available on O2, and I'm with Orange (and I don't want to risk bricking it)
  • I've used LG's Prada phone, I'm skeptical of the advantages of non-feedback'd tactile displays. Once someone introduces a way to "raise" parts of the screen and be depressed, I'll be interested

I thought the iphone had Exchange support, but had issues deleting mail.

Does anyone know for sure, as I am thinking about one, but only if it woks on MS Exchange

IMAP though, which Exchange supports. No push however.

My name has 9 letters. Coincidence? I think not...
No intention of buying.

1. It's not available in Japan.
2. No 3G means it's probably not going to be available in Japan (pretty much all phones here are 3G).
3. No push e-mail. Push e-mail (keitai-mail) is standard on all phones here. Without it, you're socially dead. Nobody speaks on phones, it's a social faux-pas to use one in public (e.g. trains) so e-mail is life.
4. I have a decent phone (cheapest plan, woo!) and a PDA. I've never liked the idea of combining both in one device.
5. Doesn't run .Net CF apps.

So until I have a stringent need to replace my PDA - at which point I'll probably have to buy a phone/PDA combination simply because stand-alone PDAs don't appear to be made anymore, so they have until that moment to fix all four other issues. Only then will I consider buying one (and considering point 5, that's not looking very likely to happen ever).

EDIT: I have nothing against the iPhone, it's definitely a very cool looking device. But it's just not in my field of view at the moment, especially number 1 is rather a show-stopper. And quite frankly, so is number 5, since I have several self-made .Net CF apps that I rely on (like my Japanese dictionary) that I'd have to port to the iPhone. Is that even possible on the current iPhone? I mean, a custom handwriting input thingy and dictionary app? I think I read somewhere you can't put your own software on it except through the browser. And does it even have a stylus? That's rather important for handwriting recognition too)
