Derek: Hello. Welcome to Real's Live Chat. How can I help you?
David: Hello
David: I really dislike Rhapsody. I would like my account deleted
Derek: I'm listening. Please go ahead.
David: well...
David: it still isn't fully compatable with Vista
David: the interaface is ugly
David: it uses it's own DRM that I can't strip, like I can from the Zune Marketplace
David: and even this chat. It uses Java so it turns off Aero in Vista and now the whole computer interface is ugly.
David: the bottom line is: I got a zune. I'm done with Rhapsody.
David: I might not have gotten a Zune if Urge stayed around. They did it right!
Derek: Sure, I can help you with that.
Derek: Please give me couple of minutes while check your account details.
David: great
Derek: I could see that you have active Rhapsody To Go subscription under the email address :
(edit: cut out)
David: yep
Derek: I understand that you are unable to transfer tracks to your device.
David: actually, I never even tried. Incedentally Urge died and I got transfered to Rhapsody right around the same time I broke my player.
Derek: Are you trying to get a new device to transfer?
David: no, I want nothing to do with Rhapsody
David: please delete my account
Derek: I understand that you are trying to cancel your account.
David: that is correct
Derek: I can help you with that. Can I ask why you'd like to cancel?
David: I already told you
David: please delete my account
Derek: To ensure the security of your account, we do ask that you call us to cancel. Hold times are usually under two minutes and we make every effort to respond swiftly and efficiently to your request. You can find the toll free number to cancel your account
right next to the chat log in contact support page, under 'Cancel Subscription'.
David: this is another reason why I don't like Rhapsody.
David: why are you giving me such a hard time?
David: I have my account number, full name and everything
David: please delete my account
Derek: I am sorry David, we are not authorized to cancel the account in chat.
David: will you please transfer me to someone who is?
Derek: Please give me couple of minutes while I check on this.
David: thank you
Derek: Thanks for your time.
Derek: David, the best thing to do is to call us at our toll-free number (found on the same page as the Live Chat button) so that we can help you.
David: *sigh*
David: you have a tough job
David: thank you anyway
David: I'll do that then
Derek: Is there anything else that I can help you with today?
David: nope
Derek: Thank you for using Real Live Chat. It was a pleasure assisting you, and I hope you were satisfied with the experience!
David: heh, funny text inserts
David: how silly
David: anyway
David: bye

Sounds like it's a bot...

I am sorry Dave

Rhapsody is horrible. I found out that while it is open, it causes glitches every couple of seconds (it causes CPU spikes). Most people might not notice this. But I write music on my computer and used to have Urge open in case I wanted to listen to some song to get some inspiration etc (great case for a subscription service). Can't do that with Rhapsody because it causes my other music apps to glitch like crazy. Never had any problem like that with Urge.
Oh well, I will probably also cancel my account soon. -

HA! Someone else who used Urge! I knew they existed!
If you want some free service, submit a support ticket and mention that you run Vista. They'll give you three months for free, even if, like me, you are merely mentioning that Vista is not an option on the "what OS is your computer running" list. -

I mentioned that on the survey that I was given after the chat session. -

Upgrade to 1.6. Only Java 1.5 has that problem. -

oh, thanks! -
The Windows Rhapsody client doesn't use Java and doesn't turn off Aero, though it does draw its own non-client area. What Rhapsody are you guys talking about?
Rhapsody To Go (PlayForSure. yeah right) is utter crrap and I don't blame you for cancelling it (I still like and subscribe to the streaming service though). But I was able to cancel RTG online with no human (or AI) interaction. -

The Java stuff was about the chat client, not Rhapsody itself.
