Why is there a train in the sub-zero section, has the heating on it failed again?
It's an APT.
The best train in the world - unlike TGV, ICE, bullet train etc. this train was designed to go fast round bends as well as on straight lines. It was so good you couldn't feel it going around the bend (Virgin tiliting trains are not that good) and it's UK speed record remained unbroken until not long ago when they first opened the dedicated high speed line from the eurostar to London (a couple of years back I think).
