Free MSPress E-Book on LINQ, ASP.NET AJAX and Silverlight

It must be holiday season at Microsoft Press too. They have just released an e-book on Visual Studio 2008 technologies and are giving it away for free. The e-book includes excerpts from three recent book releases and provides a wealth of information and insights from top experts:

You can see the first chapter of these books for free. When you register, you'll be able to download a lot more content of those books, packaged as an e-book.

Merry Christmas everyone!

By failing to prepare, you're preparing to fail.
Does not work for me. Neither in IE nor in Firefox. Anybody else having difficulties? (It's a shame though...)

Well, it's a crappy gift... these books are partial books... couple of chapters per book... so, this is more like a big ad.

It says, the full LINQ book, and excerpts from the other books.

So apparently you get one book free.

However, I'm still having problems accessing the download.

You're right. I saw the chapters listed for the LINQ book, but didn't realize they're consecutive 1-6.
Not working here either (IE7/Vista)

Eggshell with Romalian type. What do you think?
I think they should have bundled stuff like this at Install Fests this year.

I was at the Mountain View one on December 13th and I thought the gifts offered to keep people stick around until the end of the event were not engaging. I believe it was a raffle for a single copy of Vista Ultimate.

With a room of over 200 nerds, I would have stuck around through VB.NET material I already knew and didn't care about for an ebook though.

yeah, it would have been nice to get this at the InstallFest.

The one here with PADNUG was pretty good, they gave a few presentations about some of the new technology. Prizes at the end were Zunes (2 Zune 8s by raffle, one Zune Original 80 by entering the best Linq example judged at the end of the night)

Oops, I was a bit early, let me restate:

New York: 26
New England: 21

Although, I'll say this. With the Bengals having a horrible year this time, New England has made it very entertaining. I've never wanted a team to lose so bad Smiley
