W-hat?
OneNote's nice and all, but having it this way would be nicer.

Office: Mac is developed by a totally different division in Microsoft, located 2000 miles south of the Beast of Redmond. They get more freedom.

That said, I'm not impressed with Office 2008, it seems to pay only lip service to the Ribbon UI, using it only for effects and presets galleries. They've still got the toolbars and formatting inspectors.
very cool

id like a WPF typewriter view for word - complete with sounds and choices of Smith corona / Underwood classic / Electric etc.

When you say new document - a page animates into the paper wheel - turns through and slides over to Ready position

It would be fun to write a book or long story or song or what have you.. (remember icq used to have the typing sound)

and yes it would be an option that you dont have to use Tongue Out

* i would love to have an animated typewriter come up .. it would be fun, tactile experience..   Why have WPF if no one does anything fun with it?

That's why WordPerfect Office 13 did poorly in sales.

With a downloadable white-out ribbon, for 800 microsoft points.

BTW, can someone from MS here talk about why it's 800 pts, and not $10?

Err... what? wait a second... isn't the Mac office already Office 13? And isn't it called something like Office 200X anyway when sold?

Nah, whatever, every 7 years my birthday is a friday 13th... Perplexed

Looks like a poor man's OneNote clone. Can't see what the point of putting it in Word is.

Besides the pretty notebook-ring thing that this notebook layout does, OneNote does everything that the Word Notebook layout does and more.

Giving Mac users OneNote functionality without having to port or write a OneNote clone for Mac OS X? It's an appropriate case of amalgamation.

Plus I reckon it's a sly move expecting an alleged Mac tablet platform, or just to make the ModBook users happy.

I wonder how many MacBU employees ordered ModBooks...

Yes, OneNote is sometimes like wonderland for me. My last discovered feature was the copy text from an image. Very cool!!! Cool
I also like the formula recognition.

Yes, but what I mean is I don't see why you'd want to put it in the Windows version of Word when OneNote does the job about a million times better.
